Faupel’s big weekend paces Skylights

Butte High graduate Natalee Faupel scored 40 points in two games to help MSU-Northern’s women’s basketball team continue its fast start to the season.

Faupel scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Thursday’s 54-48 victory at Rocky Mountain College in Billings.

Two nights later, Faupel was the game’s high scorer again as the Skylights went on the road to beat Dickinson State 82-43. Faupel scored 23 points in that win.

Fellow Butte native Kacie McKeon did not play this weekend for Northern, which improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in the Frontier Conference.

In other games involving Butte players in college, Butte Central graduate Quinn Peoples contributed as MSU-Billings picked up a pair of home wins over the weekend.

Peoples hit two 3-pointers and scored six points in Thursday’s 81-63 win over Simon Fraser. Peoples tossed in five points in Saturday’s 82-69 win over Western Washington University.

The Yellowjackets improved to 10-4 overall and 3-1 in the GNAC. 1 comment
