KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Butte High graduate Natalee Faupel and four members of the Montana Tech women’s basketball team were named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes on Monday.
In all, 111 players received the honor nationwide.
Orediggers making the cut were junior guard Martha Dembek, junior center Rachel Farris, senior guard Shayla Mack and junior guard/forward Callee Remsen.
Faupel, the league MVP and first-team All-American, is a junior guard/forward for MSU-Northern.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
