Fast start sends Wildcats past Butte Central girls

MISSOULA — Josie Windauer scored 18 points to lead three Columbia Falls players in double figures Friday, and the Wildkats ran past Butte Central’s girls’ basketball team for a 64-17 win at Dahlberg Arena.

The game was part of the Southwest vs. Northwest Tip-off Tournament.

Trista Cowan added 14 points for the Wildkats, and Ryley Kehr hit three 3-pointers and tossed in 11 points.

Columbia Falls led 23-4 after the first quarter and 40-6 at halftime. The Wildkats extended the lead to 61-11 after three quarters.

Emma Keeley hit a 3-pointer and scored seven points to lead the young Maroons. Avery Kelly, ,Delaney Hasquet, Bella Sorini, Shea Davis and Madison Kump each scored two points.

BC closes the tournament at 3:15 p.m. Saturday against Browning at the University of Montana Auxiliary Gym.
