BILLINGS — Butte High’s girls’ basketball team is now playing for third place.
Eastern AA champion Billings Skyview lead nearly wire to wire Thursday, and the Falcons knocked off Butte High 57-39 in the quarterfinals of the Class AA State tournament at the Metra. (Stats)
Senior will head to the semifinals to take on Billings Senior. Butte High will battle Kalispell Flathead in a loser-out game at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Broncs beat Flathead 55-47.
Brooke Berry and Breanna Williams each scored 15 points to lead the Falcons, who rolled their record to 20-2 on the season.







Skyview led 12-4 after the first quarter and opened up a 33-12 advantage at halftime. The Falocns led 48-20 after three quarters, and Butte High outscored Skyview 19-9 in the final frame.
Cami Harris added 11 points for the Falcons, who collected 11 steals on the game.Berry collected four steals, while MG Spotted Bear and Williams each grabbed three.Lexis Braver pulled down nine rebounds.
Kodie Hoagland and Ashley Olson each scored 10 points to lead the Bulldogs. Hoagland’s total included a four-point play.
Payton Clary and Laura Rosenleaf each scored six points for Butte High, which fell to 11-11. Brityn Stewart scored four points, Rian Ferriter tossed in two, and Pieper Joseph netted one.
Tylar Clary, Emmarie Richards, Brooke McGrath and Brooke Groesbeck also contributed for the Bulldogs.
