Esary’s 28 leads Argos past Montana Tech women

GREAT FALLS — Parker Esary tossed in 28 points to lead the way Friday night as the University of Providence topped Montana Tech 85-71. (Stats)

The 6-foot-1 junior post also pulled down 11 rebounds for the Argos, who improved to 13-8 overall and 4-5 in the Frontier Conference.

Kenedy Cartwright added 17 points and seven rebounds for Providence, which led 23-14 aft the end of the first quarter and 42-30 at the half.

Emilee Maldonado contributed with 15 points and eight assists, and Jenna Randich tossed in 11 points.

Mesa Williams scored 20 points to lead the Orediggers, who fell to 11-10 and 1-8 with their eighth straight loss. Tavia Rooney added 16 points in the loss. Tech also got nine points apiece from Mollie Peoples, Dani Urick and Kaylee Zard.

The Orediggers will head to Havre Saturday to take on MSU-Northern.
