England’s 36 points leads Tech men past Bearcats

SALEM, Ore. — Montana Tech sophomore Taylor England scored a career-high 36 points Friday night to lead Montana Tech to a 77-66 win over Willamette University. (Stats)

The 6-foot-7 Helena native connected on 12 of 13 shots from the field. He also sank 12 of 14 free throws. England also pulled down a team-leading eight rebounds for Tech, which led 40-38 at halftime.

Newcomer Troy Owens added 11 points in the victory that saw nine Orediggers score points.

Blake Dittman tossed in eight points, Nick Fitts scored seven, Dylan Pannabecker tallied six, Nate Ward tossed in four, Carson Dummer and Derrius Collins each scored two, and Drew Huse added one.

Caleb Roberts scored 16 points to lead three Bearcats in double figures. Jordan Jenkins netted 14, while Justus Eaglesmith scored 12 off the bench.

The 2-0 Orediggers play an exhibition game at Oregon State on Saturday.
