MISSOULA — Former University of Montana offensive lineman Dylan Cook signed to with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.
UM announced the signing after Cook went undrafted Saturday.
Cook played quarterback at Butte High School, and he took his talent to MSU-Northern. The signing came after he missed all but a few plays of his senior season with a broken collarbone in 2015.
In 2014, Cook passed for 3,124 yards and 30 touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs. Only his brother, Dallas, threw for more yards in a season. Dallas Cook led Butte High to the 2012 Class AA State football title.
After two seasons in Havre, Dylan Cook walked on to play for the Grizzlies in Missoula. He switched to offensive lineman. He earned a scholarship before the 2019 season and started parts of two campaigns for the Grizzlies.
In Tampa Bay, Cook will battle for a chance to join a team that is one season removed from a Super Bowl title.
Cook’s younger brother Devon is a senior at Butte High school. Also a former quarterback who now plays on the offensive line, the younger Cook recently signed to play football at Montana Western. 1 comment
