Dogs turn away Braves, make it 3 straight

Butte High Bulldogs (4-1) (3-0) Kalispell Braves (1-4), (0-3)

The Butte High Bulldogs made it three in a row last night and 2 in a row on the road as they faced off against the Flathead Braves in Kalispell last night. Butte did all their scoring in the first half scoring once in the 1st quarter and twice in the second quarter to eventually prevail 21-7 over the Braves.

The Bulldog defense was stout and did its job, Butte High opened the scoring with an 8 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Bo Demarais to sophomore tight end Hudson Luedtke with 1:38 to go in the first quarter.

Demarais would then score on a 10 yard scamper to pay dirt, while Karson Pumnea also scored a 10 yard rushing touchdown.

The Bulldog defense caused two turnovers, the first came from Tocher Lee when he intercepted Sims pass intended for Stephen Riley at the Flathead 34 yard line.

Bulldog Will Stephan also picked Sims off at the Flathead 34 yard line.

Flathead would crack their goose egg late in the 4th with 5:18 remaining, Sims found Brody Thornsberry on a 18 yard touchdown pass, Flathead would recover an eventual onside kick and the Dogs hang on to win 21-7 on the road.

Karson Pumnea led the ground attack for Butte High he rushed 24 times for 73 yards and a score, Bo Demarais completed 17 of 30 passes for 153 yards, he threw and ran for a score as well. Hudson Luedtke caught 3 balls for 37 yards and a score.

Casey Nolan led the Bulldogs with 6 tackles, Kade Scheelman recorded 5 tackles and also recorded a sack. Will Stephan and Tocher Lee each had an interception a piece.

The Bulldogs will return to Naranche this week as they are set to take on a very tough Missoula Sentinel team. Butte sits atop the Western AA with Sentinel at (4-1) (3-0), while Glacier sits in 3rd at (4-1), (2-1).
