Dogs travel to Helena to meet up with Bengals

Butte High Bulldogs 6-1, 5-0 @ Helena High Bengals 4-3, 3-2.

Butte High heads into their final leg of the season this week as the travel to the state capital to take on the Helena High Bengals.

A week after the Bulldogs defeated the Spartans, a feisty Helena High team handed them their second straight loss defeating them 28-14.

Senior QB Carter Kraft leads the Bengals under center, he has completed 105/184 passes this season to go with 10 touchdowns 1190 yards and 7 interceptions.

Against Sentinel, Carter completed 13-25 passes  for 159 yards 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the win.

Tevin Wetzel leads the backfield and team in rushing averaging 54 yards a game, he also leads the team in total touchdowns with 8, 7 rushing and one receiving.

Butte on the other hand hasn’t lost since week two when their lone loss came to the Bozeman Hawks.

Since then, Butte has been riding a title wave and a sizzling hot 5 straight game winning streak to solidify their top spot in the Western AA.

Senior QB Bo Demarais has played error free football now for 3 straight games, his last game was near perfect completing 10-11 passes with a perfect passer rating, 3 air attack touchdowns and a rushing score all in the first half.

Tocher Lee continues to spark the team when needed, whether it be a timely interception, racking up tackles, or returning kick and punt returns to the house.

Hudson Luedtke is racking up 63 receiving yards a game to go with 5 touchdowns on the year while  Rueso Battermann averages 70 receiving yards a game to go with 4 touchdowns on the season, both continue to be huge targets for Bo and continue to make big play after big play, night in and night out.

One thing the Bulldogs have been doing during this winning streak is controlling the ground game with their two headed monster at running back in Trey Hansen (76.8) yards a game and 3 touchdowns, Karson Pumnea (58.7) rushing yards a game to go with 4 touchdowns, both players have been exploding out of the backfield and putting up big numbers.

The Dogs look to knock off the Bengals on their home turf and extend their streak to 6 this Friday in Helena. You can follow Butte High School football for live game updates, and we will have a story after the conclusion of the game and as stats become available.
