Dogs move up to No. 2

Butte High’s football team moved up two spots to No. 2 as Week 3 of the Treasure State Media Poll was unveiled Tuesday.

The move comes after Butte High rolled to a 52-21 victory Friday at Great Falls Russell.

Billings West holds the top spot in the Class AA with 112 points. The defending state champions took home 22 of 23 first-place votes. Helena Capital took the other top vote.

Butte High, which fell from No. 3 to No. 4 in Week 2, received 73 points for the second spot. Capital took in 71 for No. 3. Missoula Sentinel is fourth at 43, followed by Helena High with 38.

Hamilton holds onto the No. 1 spot in the Class A poll.

Butte High will be home Friday night to open Western AA play against Helena High.
