In case you live under a rock, you may have heard the Butte High Bulldogs made more magic happen at Naranche stadium last Friday as they hosted the top seeded Glacier Wolfpack in a game of the ages.
Butte High has a defense that never gives up, they are relentless in their pursuit of giving the offense more possessions, they have players that have that next play mentality and a coaching staff that is like the dad that has hit all the potholes in life, helping their squad dodge any they see in their way.
The Bulldog defense looks to be up to the task and look to anchor Butte High as they hit the road this week, Luke Verlanic has been a tackling machine this season as he leads the team with (8.7) tackles per game, Luke has 26 total tackles this season 18 of them being solo. Luke is helped by Nolan Casey (8.5) and Adien Cuchine (8) tackle per game.
Rueso Battermann is leading the Bulldogs in receiving thus for the year, he has caught 14 balls for 290 yards landing him at the number 3 overall receiver for yards in the Western AA and and overall number 6 rank in Montana.
Butte High’s Bo Demarais has thrown for 768 yards this season, 282 of them and 3 touchdowns came Friday against the Wolfpack, he has also thrown 8 interceptions on the year.
Butte waited till the 4th quarter to get things going against Glacier which was actually the second time this season that has happened. They look to start fast and play a clean game from start to finish as the take on the Eagles.
Missoula Big Sky is coming off a 21-20 win over the Braves last Friday night, Avery Omlid leads the Eagles under center. He completed 22-34 passes for 254 yards and 2 scores, he also recorded a 106.7 QB rating.
Senior Joey Sandberg who’s averages 125.3 yards a game rushed 19 times for 84 yards and a score in the win.
Colton Ramos leads the Eagles in receiving yards per game at 106 while Hank Jergeson is racking up almost 14 tackles a game.
Butte now possesses a 2-1 overall record and are 1-0 in the Western AA looking to make the 2-0 this week on the road, kickoff is at 7pm.
