Weather was cold and very rainy and Coach Erik Mankins described it as plain tough conditions  for the boys and girls golfers participating in the Western Montana Divisional Golf tournament held at Buffalo Hills golf course in Kalispell.

Boys

Senior Butte Bulldog Jack Prigge holds a two shot lead after carding an one under 71. Tyler Avery from Glacier is in second and Butte golfer Brenner Booth carded a 5 over 77 to place third going into the final round Friday. Gavin Roesti finished in 7th with a seven over 79. Chase Choquette finished  in 14th place with an 84. Rounding out the varsity boys was Jacob Sawyer with a 90.

The Bulldog boys are sitting in first place with a 13-point advantage. Glacier is in second and Flathead and Missoula Sentinel round out the top 4.

Girls

Butte High girls were led by Dylan Bartolleti who carded a 100 good enough for  8th place overall. Other Bulldog women included Chelsie Lyons good enough for 10th place, Taylor Sullivan 107 -12 place, Kate Deshaw 115- 21st place and Gussey Lean 123  -30th.

The Bulldog girls are in 4rh place after day 1. Helena Capital is in first. Glacier and Missoula Hellgate round out the top 3. Capital holds a 12 stroke advantage over Glacier. The Butte girls hold a 12 stroke lead over 5th place Flathead for the final team slot for the State tournament.

The Butte High Bulldogs boys and girls golf teams find themselves in contention for a trip to the State golf tournament to be held in Helena next week. Coach Eric Mankins said it well when he told his golfers; ” you can’t win the divisional tournament on day 1 but you can surely lose it”.
