Dillon girls stays undefeated, trample Lady Maroons

Lady Maroons 11 VS Dillon Beavers 67

The Lady Maroons were without 22 tonight as she sat out due to a back injury, the Beavers jumped out fast with relentless scoring on offense and true grit defensively, picking up the Lady Maroons full court to start the game.

Butte Central only put up 2 points in the first quarter on a Mollie Drew pair of free throws, the Beavers led 24-2 after one.

The Beavers would continue to keep their foot on the throttle and blow it wide open with a 31-2 lead until Sophia Gelling came up with two for the Maroons.

The Maroons would get another two from Kathryn Lalicker after a nice block from Maycee Anderson on the defensive end to make it 41-8 with 11 seconds left, Mollie Drew would catch a pass down low and go up at the buzzer and put it in for two, 41-10 Beaver lead at the half.

The Beavers came out in the second half and kept the pressure up leading to a 9-0 run to begin the period, the Lady Maroons were flustered early and often and just couldn’t get anything going without Bado tonight.

Dillon held the Lady Maroons scoreless in the 3rd quarter and ballooned their lead to 53 points heading into the 4th quarter.

The Dillon Beavers would go on to win in convincing fashion 67-11.

The Lady Beavers had 4 players who scored in double figures tonight and were led by Halle Fitzgerald who had 13 points. Kylie Konen had 12 points, Leila Stenerson had 11, and Ariel Thomas had 10 for Dillon.

Mollie Drew had 5 points for Butte Central, Kathryn Lalicker had 4, and Sophia Gelling had 2.

The Lady Maroons will head to Hamilton over the weekend and play at 4pm Saturday.
