HAVRE — Montana Tech’s men’s basketball team had to work a little overtime to knock off MSU-Northern Sunday at the Armory.
Sindou Diallo scored seven of his 17 points in the extra period, and the Orediggers rebounded from Saturday’s loss with a 71-69 victory. (Stats)
Markieth Brown Jr. came off the bench to score 18 points to lead the Orediggers, who improved to 6-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
Cody Baumstarck, Derrius Collins and Drew Huse each scored eight points for Tech, which outscored the Lights 11-9 in overtime. Baumstarck, who grabbed 11 rebounds, also sank a pair of free throws to put the Orediggers on top late in the extra period.
Bridger Larson scored six points for Tech, which led 33-26 at halftime. Nate Ward scored four, and Coly Liles tossed in two.
Jomel Boyd scored 21 points to lead Northern (3-2, 2-4). David Harris tossed in 17 points, while Aaron Collins scored nine, Allens Sims netted eight, and C.J. Nelson contributed with seven.
The Orediggers are back on the road to play Carroll College next week. Northern will take on the University of Providence Wednesday in Havre.
