Montana Tech and Carroll College host the inaugural Big Sky Volleyball Challenge Friday and Saturday. Each school hosts six matches each day at their respective athletic complexes.
The two-day tournament features some of the fiercest volleyball in the NAIA. In addition to Frontier schools No. 17 Rocky, Westminster, MSU-Northern and Great Falls, a group of top schools from around the country are coming to Big Sky Country. Attendees include No. 1 Texas at Brownsville, No. 2 Concordia (Calif.), No. 8 Biola University, No. 18 College of Idaho, University of California Merced, and Dickinson State.
Montana Tech faces Dickinson State and Texas at Brownsville on Friday. The Dickinson match opens the two days at 9 a.m. on Kelvin Sampson Court in the HPER Complex. The No. 1 Texas at Brownsville match closes the day at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Tech plays at 11 a.m. hosting No. 18 College of Idaho. The Diggers play again at 7 p.m. against No. 8 Biola.
Entry for all students is free. Cost for adults is $10 a day or $7 for Tech’s headline match at 7 p.m. Season passes are also valid and can be picked up at the event.
