SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Montana Tech will play both of its pool play matches of the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Championship Tuesday at the Tyson Events Center.
The No. 15-ranked Orediggers (22-9) will compete in Pool G with No. 7 Marian (Indiana) and No. 9 Midland (Nebraska). Tech will play Marian at 11:30 a.m. (Mountain Time) before taking on Midland at 6 p.m.
Midland and Marian will play at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Marian is two-years removed from winning the national championship.
The winners from each of the eight pools will advance to single-elimination bracket play, which begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.
The tournament began with 48 teams, and the winners of first-round matches advanced to the tournament site. Montana Tech edged Bushnell University in a 26-28, 25-19, 25-27, 28-26, 16-14 thriller Nov. 20 at the HPER Complex.
The Orediggers are making their fourth trip to the national site under head coach Brian Solomon. Tech also advanced in 2016, 2017 and 2019.
No. 5 University of Providence is the only other Frontier Conference team completing. The Frontier Champion Argos are playing in Pool E with No. 10 Life (Georgia) and No. 23 Lindsey Wilson (Kentucky).
Missouri Baptist is the defending champion. All games will be streamed on the NAIA website. Click here for the full schedule.
