Diggers move up to No. 8

The Montana Tech football team moved up to No. 8 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, which was released today.

Tech takes over the spot held by Southern Oregon, which fell to No. 17 after Saturday’s 39-29 home loss to Eastern Oregon. The Mountaineers moved up four spots to a tie for No. 12.

The 5-1 Orediggers’ bump in the poll comes two days after Saturday’s convincing 34-15 win over Carroll College. Tech has won five straight games and avenged its only loss of the season.

Montana Western moved up four spots to No. 21 after Saturday’s 30-20 home win over the College of Idaho. Rocky Mountain College received votes.

Marian (Indiana) remains in the top spot. Baker (Kansas) is No. 2, followed by Reinhardt (Georgia).

Montana Tech heads to Havre to take on MSU-Northern on Saturday. Other Frontier Conference action sees Rocky playing at Carroll, Southern Oregon travelling to the College of Idaho and Montana Western playing at Eastern Oregon.
