MESA, Ariz. — Montana Tech’s women’s basketball team opened the Cactus Classic with a 68-65 win over Benedictine University Monday night.
Tavia Rooney and Dani Urick each had a big game to lead the Orediggers, who 7-7 overall with the non-conference win. Rooney poured in 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Urick posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
The Orediggers will stay in the Grand Canyon State to take on Westmont College of Californian at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Chandler.
