KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) release the seventh Coaches’ Top 25 Poll of the 2022 season. Montana Tech moved up one spot to No. 23 in the latest national poll.
The poll had a lot of shuffling outside of the top 10 as the final weeks of the season become critical for earning a spot into the NAIA Football Championship Series.
The Orediggers (5-2) defeated Southern Oregon 45-21 Saturday as the only Frontier Conference school in the top 25 to win. The rest of the conference schools in the top 25 found themselves falling in the rankings after being upset in their games.
Than-No. 7 College of Idaho lost to Montana Western 40-25 over the weekend and fell to No. 12. Than-No. 14 Rocky was shutout in the upset loss to Carroll College 24-0. Rocky dropped the most of any team in the top 25 falling behind the Orediggers to No. 24. Carroll College, who had been receiving votes in the last poll, enter this week at No. 25.
The Yotes were the only team to fall out of the top 10 and are still the highest ranked Frontier school. Georgetown (Ky.) fell out of the top 15 to No. 18 after losing last weekend. No. 11 Saint Xavier (Ill.) is the only school with two losses in the top 15.
Langston (Okla.) jumped back into the polls to No. 22 after defeating Ottawa (Ariz.) over the weekend. Ottawa fell to No. 20.
Morningside (Iowa) received all 19 first place votes and remains in the top spot for the ninth consecutive poll.
