BILLINGS — Montana Tech turned up the defense in the second half Thursday night at MetraPark Arena.
The Oredigger men’s basketball team stymied a Rocky Mountain College team that was red hot in the first half, outscoring the Bears 39-26 in the second half for an 80-72 Frontier Conference victory. (Stats)
Sindou Diallo scored 26 points to lead four Orediggers in double digits in Tech’s first conference victory of the season.
Taylor England, the reigning NAIA National Player of the Week, added 16 points and nine rebounds as the Orediggers improved to 9-5 and 1-2. Troy Owens Jr. and Drew Huse each scored 14 points in the victory.
Tech also got six points from Dylan Pannabecker, three from Derrius Collins.
Darius Henderson’s 23 points led the Battlin’ Bears, who fell to 6-6 and 1-2. Sam Vining scored 13 points, while Grant Wallace and Kelson Eiselein each scored 11.
The Orediggers are back in action Saturday when they travel to Dillon to take on Montana Western.
