Diane Miller surprised herself Wednesday when she bounced a shot with her 6-hybrid toward the green on hole No. 17 at the Butte Country Club.
Miller didn’t notice at the time, but her ball ended up in the bottom of the cup for a hole in one from 137 yards out.
“I didn’t even see it,” Miller said of the ace. “I didn’t think it went in.”
It did, and the shot was witnessed by Miller’s husband, Bob, and playing partner Dale King. The ace was the first for Miller in two decades playing golf.
