WHITEFISH — Sindou Diallo of Montana Tech and Jamie Pickens of Carroll College were named Frontier Conference Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced today.
Diallo takes home the men’s award, while Pickens received the women’s recognition.
Diallo, a 6-foot-3 senior guard from Tacoma, Washington, led the Orediggers to a 2-0 week. The Orediggers beat Montana Western 88-84 in Dillon on Wednesday before returning home to knock off Carroll College 58-55 on Thursday.
Against the Bulldogs, Diallo matched his career high with 35 points. The next night he turned into defensive stopper as the Orediggers beat the Saints for the second time in two weeks.
For the week, Diallo averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and three assists. He was 16 of 35 from the field (46 percent) and 14 of 17 from the free throw line (82 percent).
This marks the fourth time this season that a member of the Oredigger men’s team was honored. Taylor England, who missed the last two games with an injury, won the award three times.
Max Clark of Montana Western was also nominated for the honor.

The sophomore scored 19 points, pulled down five rebounds and recorded three assists. She was 7 of 13 (54 percent) from the field and 5 of 9 from the free throw line.
