Dawgs split at Rocky

BILLINGS — Montana Western’s basketball teams split with Rocky Mountain College Saturday night at the Fortin Center.

The Rocky women beat the No. 10 Bulldogs 54-47 before the No. 16 Western men rolled to a 103-84 victory in the nightcap.

Brooke Jones scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the balanced Rock attack as the Bears improved 3-1 in conference and 13-1 overall.  Mikayla Jones added 12 points. (Stats)

Brianna King’s 17 points, 13 of which came from the free throw line, led the Bulldogs, 2ho fell to 11-5, 1-3. Cierra Lamey tossed in 12, and Paige Holmes scored nine.

Dom Robinson and Zaccheus Darko-Kelly combined to score 63 points to lead the Western men.

Robinson scored 35 points and dished out nine assists. Darko Kelly poured in 28 points to go along with nine rebounds. (Stats)

Brandon Jones added 14 points for the Bulldogs, who improved to 2-2 and 12-3. Kooper Kidgell scored 12.

Former Montana Grizzly Jared Samuelson scored 26 points to lead the Bears, who fell to 1-3 and 9-6.
