Dawgs maul Bears

BILLINGS —  Kylar Prante ran for 187 yards and two touchdowns, and Joe Caicedo returned a pair of fumbles for scores Saturday as Montana Western routed No. 24 Rocky Mountain Collete 38-7 on the Herb Klindt Field. (Stats)

Prante, a junior who carried the ball 29 times, reached the century mark for the first time in his college career. He scored on runs of 4 and 31 yards.

Rocky jumped out to a 7-0 lead when Drew Korf found the end zone on a 5-yard run. The rest of the day belonged to the Bulldogs.

Jon Jund passed for 160 yards, a touchdown and three picks. After Prante’s first touchdown, Jund hit Nate Simkins for a 16-yard score to give the Bulldogs the lead for good.

Caicedo’s touchdown returns went for 5 and 45 yards to cap the scoring.

Mitch Orme, Nate Masterson and Payton Pinz picked off passes for the Bulldogs. Butte Central graduate Kyle Schulte registered a sack, as did teammates Jason Ferris and Tanner Harrell.

The Bulldogs will host Eastern Oregon for next Saturday’s homecoming game.
