KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Montana Western’s run through the NAIA Division I Men’s National Basketball Championship came to an end today.
The No. 14 Bulldogs fell 84-79 to No. 6 Southwest Assemblies of God University (SAGU) of Texas in the quarterfinals today at the Municipal Auditorium. Western played a 30-win team for the second time in as many days.
Nathaniel Duce Ward score 24 points to lead SAGU (32-4) to the Final Four.
Kris Collins came off the bench to hit seven 3-pointers and score 21 points to pace the Bulldogs, who closed the season at 24-10. Vince Turk scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Jordan Overstreet scored 17 points.
