The ninth Butte Depot Crossroads Shootout four-on-four basketball tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Maroon Activities Center and Butte Central High school gym.
Games will run all day Saturday and Sunday. Championship games are scheduled for 3 and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The tournament, which raises money for Mariah’s Challenge, will include some big college basketball names, past and present.
That list includes Butte High legend Lexie Nelson and former University of Montana star and new Montana Tech assistant coach Derek Selvig.
Current Montana Tech point guard Hattie Thatcher is playing. So are former Orediggers Jaiger Allen and Mandy Machinal.
University of Montana alums Ali Hurley and Torry Hill of Anaconda will also be competing.
Through its first eight years, the Crossroads Shootout, which relies on a handful of local and out-of-town referees volunteering their time, has raised $29,000 for Mariah Day Memorial Scholarship Fund.
