Corban turns back Tech women

SPOKANE — Montana Tech’s women’s basketball team fell 56-49  to Corban University Saturday at the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier.

The Warriors expanded a four point lead at the break to as many as 21 in the second half. The Diggers narrowed the lead late in the game, but could not overcome the deficit.

Kelsey DeWit led the Diggers with her third double-double of the season. She had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks. She went 6 of 11 in the game and 4 of 5 from the free throw line.

Serbian junior Ivana Lacmanovic had her best game as an Oredigger turning in a seven point effort. She added a pair of rebounds and two assists.

Freshman Brynne Kambich six points going 2 of 4 from three-point range.

Tara Vanweerdhuizen led the Warriors with a double-double of her own. The center had 17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.

The Orediggers are at home next Friday night as they host Westmont University at Kelvin Sampson Court at 7 p.m.
