Copper Sprockets ride to win at Crosscut Classic

BOZEMAN — The Copper Sprockets youth cycling team had another big day Saturday.

The Butte-based team rode to the team victory at the Crosscut Classic. The Copper Sprockets scored 2,235 points in the race. The Hellgate Mammoths placed second at 2,277, and Bozeman High school took third at 2,163. In all, 17 teams scored points. (Results)

Max Kluck and Aiden Sorich finished 1, 2 in the varsity boys’ race to lead the way. Will Silk placed fifth in the same division. Hanna Kluck took third in the girls’ high school race.

Milee Stillwagon, in the sixth-grade girls’ race, and Coen Lutke, in the sophomore boys, each placed fourth for the Copper Sprockets. Patrick Renouard placed sixth in the freshman boys, Caden Tippett took seventh in the eighth-grade girls, Giovanni Fantini placed eighth in the seventh-place boys, and Benjamin McAdams took 10th in the eighth-grade boys.

Bo Bjorgum, Ryan Draper, Will McGree, Joey Ward and Ian Troutman. The team will stay in the Bozeman are for another race on Sunday.
