Dallas Cook and Sammy McGree were named top athletes at Butte High during Wednesday’s All-Sports Banquet at the Butte Civic Center.
Cook received the Harry “Swede” Dahlberg Outstanding Boy Athlete Award after an outstanding career in football and basketball. McGree took home the Outstanding Girl Athlete Award.
During the 2012 state championship run, Cook was named the Class AA Offensive MVP. The quarterback basically rewrote the Butte High record book. He was also a two-year starter in basketball.
Cook will play football at North Dakota State College of Science this fall.
McGree excelled in volleyball and basketball. She was also a strong track competitor for her first three years at the school.
McGree finished her hoops career at Butte High as No. 2 on the school’s all-time scoring list. She led the Class AA in scoring with 18.7 points per game as a senior.
