The Frontier Conference announced the football Player of the Week honors this afternoon. All three went to players from the College of Idaho.
Offensive Player of the Week: Darius-James Peterson, College of Idaho
Peterson is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior quarterback from Novato, California.
In the College of Idaho’s 59-27 conference home win over (RV) Montana Western, Peterson was 16 of 24 passing for 224 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. His 454 yards of total offense is a new school record.
Also nominated: Chris Kelly of Montana Tech, Brenden Kelly of Eastern Oregon, Sam Sparks of Rocky Mountain College and Tanner Trosin of Southern Oregon.
Defensive Player of the Week: Trevor Henderson, College of Idaho
Henderson is a 6-3, 225-pound, senior defensive tackle from Caldwell, Idaho.
In College of Idaho’s 59-27 conference home win over (RV) Montana Western, Smith recorded three solo tackles, one assisted tackle, two tackles for loss (-25) and two quarterback sacks.
Also nominated: Connor Wines of Montana Tech, A.J. Cooper of Southern Oregon, Keenan Fagan of Rocky Mountain College and Key Yraguen of Eastern Oregon.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Kyle Mitchell, College of Idaho
Mitchell is a 6-2, 175-pound sophomore kicker from Herriman, Utah.
In College of Idaho’s 59-27 conference home win over (RV) Montana Western, he was 8 of 8 in PAT’s for a new school record. In addition, he kicked a 40-yard field goal.
Also nominated: Griff Amies of Rocky Mountain College and Nathan Harden of Eastern Oregon.
