COI cancellations wipe out Montana Tech games

CALDWELL, Idaho — Changes in the sports schedules for the College of Idaho will interrupt the schedule for the Montana Tech men’s basketball team.

With the State of Idaho moving back to Stage 2 of the Idaho Rebounds Initiative during the coronavirus pandemic, the College of Idaho updated several sports schedules this week. That includes canceling the Taco Bell Shoot-Out, which was scheduled for Nov. 27-28.

The Oredigger men were set to play Lewis-Clark State and the College of Idaho in that tournament. Those were the final non-conference games on the Tech slate before the Orediggers open Frontier Conference play Dec. 5 at home against Carroll College.

Tech has not updated its online schedule to note the change. The Orediggers have one game under their belt, am 82-59 Oct. 23 non-conference loss at Dickinson State.

After that season-opening game, Tech called off all remaining games until after the school completes its finals for the first semester.

The Oredigger women are set to play an exhibition game at Idaho State University next Wednesday. The team is also scheduled to play Lewis-Clark State, Corban University (Oregon) and Valley City State University (North Dakota) at a tournament hosted by Carroll College Nov. 27-29 in Helena.
