RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Butte Cobras opened the weekend on a high note Friday night.
Ross Biggerstaff scored two goals, and Cade Wassman added a goal and four assists as the Cobras knocked off the Badlands Sabers 6-4 at the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena. (Stats)
Butte improved to 3-4-1 with the NA3HL Frontier Division victory. The Sabers fell to 3-4.
David Hanny, who registered three assists, scored a goal in the win. So did Fabian Vik and Caleb Manson. Biggerstaff assisted on a goal for the Cobras, who outshot the Sabers 51-28. Carson Streich, Caelin Chinery and Vik also assisted goals.
Caleb Cross turned away 24 shots between the pipes to get the win.
Seth Stock, Hunter Fischbach, Kael Delzer and Mason Martin scored goals for the Sabers.
Butte will go for the weekend sweep when the teams meet again Saturday night.
