CODY, Wyo. — The Butte Cobras are officially on a roll.
Fabian Vik scored two goals, and Carson Streich assisted on three Friday night as the Butte Cobras skated to a 6-2 NA3HL Frontier Division victory over the Yellowstone Quake at the Riley Arena. (Stats)
The win was the third straight for the Cobras, who play the Quake again Saturday night in Cody. Yellowstone’s losing streak reached seven games.
Luke Schleusner, Cade Wessman and Nick Bradshaw scored goals as Butte took a 3-0 lead in the first period.
The Cobras extended the advantage to 5-0 on goals by Robby Arver and Vik in the second period. Jack Harris got the Quake on the board late in the second.
After Keegan Ferguson cut the lead to 5-2 early in the third, Vik quickly answered with his second goal.
Schleusner assisted on two goals in the win. Tamer Billman, David Hanny, Caleb Manson, Caelin Chinery, Quinn Nichols, Wessman and Bradshaw all assisted one.
Caleb Cross turned away 58 shots to get the win in net, and Yellowstone outshot the Cobras 60-51.
The Cobras inched closer to .500 with the win, upping their record to 8-12-2. The Quake fell to 4-15-2.
Saturday’s game starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Riley Arena.
