Leading Butte High’s girls’ basketball team to the Class AA State tournament for the first time since 2013 paid off in the form of All-State recognition for a pair of Bulldogs seniors.
The Class AA All-State and all-conference teams were released to the media today, and Butte High’s Ally Cleverly and Aspen Lovshin made both.
The honors come after Cleverly scored 14.6 points per game to lead Butte High to a 14-4 regular season. The four-year Butte High starter also dished out 4.1 assists per game.
Lovshin averaged 13.1 points per game in the regular season. She joined Cleverly with 34 made 3-pointers. She also scored 24 points in Butte High’s 47-41 win over Great Falls Russel in the semifinals of the Easter AA Divisional tournament in Great Falls. That win send the Bulldogs to state.
The other All-State selections from the Eastern AA are TyLee Manuel and Shayla Montague of Billings West and Ayla Embry of Bozeman.
Bulldog senior Brittney Tierney, an All-State selection a year ago, received an all-conference honorable mention.
On the boys’ side, Butte High seniors Kash Kelly and Clay Ferguson took home all-conference honorable mention.
