Chase Choquette is living up to his name in more ways than one.
The Butte boy, who competed in the 7-and-under division, won the 1-mile race at the Ticker Tuner Fun Run Saturday, finishing the course in 8 minutes, 56 seconds.
Choquette’s father, Matt, won the 5-kilometer race in 18:55, meaning the runners in two of the three races were chasing a Choquette.
Hunter Flynn placed second overall in the 5K, in 20:40.
Suzie Kaluza won the women’s 5K in 23:21. Butte High runner Bailee Hanson was second, running the 3.1-mile course in 24:23 less than 24 hours after running during Butte High’s Purple and White celebration. She beat Bulldog teammate Mariah Richardson by 7 seconds.
Jeff Bruan won the 10K, finishing in 39:19. Norm Larson placed second at 40:40, while Lance Oswald took third in 44:37.
Carrie Holland won the women’s side in the 10K in 51:20
Nathaniel Treser, 7, placed second in the male division of the 1-mile race. He finished in 10:17, just 3 seconds behind Clara Treser, 8, who placed fourth in the female division.
Karen Davidson won the female division in 9:33. Korinne Treser was second at 10:13.77, followed by Heidi Leipheimer at 10:13.92.
