CHICAGO — Butte’s Miles Choquette finished in a six-way tie for fourth place at the Elks National Hoop Shoot Saturday.
Choquette competed in the boys’ 10-11 age group. He made 20 out of 25 shots, sinking his first 20 in a row.
Madox Hodges of Spokane won with 24. Terro Zhang of Sparks, Nevada and Easton Misegades of Wadena, Minnesota was next at 23. Zhang won a shootout for second place. (Results)
Ellison Graham of Great Falls placed fourth in the girls’ 11-12 age group, making 19 of 25 shots. Her sister Cadence tied for fourth with 21 in the girls’ 12-13 group.
Choquette and the Graham sisters qualified for the National Shoot by winning the regional championship March 12 in Rapid City, S.D. Choquette’s run began with the local Hoop Shoot, which was held at the Maroon Activities Center in November.
He then won the South District Shoot in Dillon before winning the state crown in Livingston.
