Chamberlin, Cooney, Thunderblades win title

HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Montana Thunderblades are national champions.

The Billings-based Montana All-Star team beat Team South Dakota 3-1 in the championship game of the USA Hockey U14 Tier II national hockey tournament.

Butte players Kody Chamberlin and Ethan Cooney helped the Thunderblades pick up the national title. One of his goals came in the championship game.

Chamberlin recorded four goals and five assists in the tournament. Cooney added five goals and an assist.

The Thunderblades outscored their opponents 33-5 in the tournament.

Other members of the team are Dawson Smith, Cade Hanley, Hazen McKay, Jacob Sodja, Cahse Wesen, Conner Lindsoe, Dysen Skinner, Austin Leadbetter, Joel Craven, Duncan McGarrah Ryan Thompson, Daniel Davis, Cody Gagnon and Kaden Lindberg.

Mike Hass is the head coach. He is assisted by Kyle McGlone, Jay Murray and Rob Gagnon.
