HAVRE — Butte Central freshman James Holmes opened his prep wrestling career by going 1-2 at the Havre Mixer Friday.
All three of Holmes’ matches ended in a pin in the combined 126- and 132-pound division. After falling to Carson Harris of Havre, Holmes stuck Jack Gillen of Havre in the third period. Holmes closed his day with a loss to Alex Wahl of Cutbank.
That gave Holmes a third-place finish in the division.
Holmes will compete in the Havre Invitational on Saturday. Results are available at trackwrestling.com.
