DILLON — Montana Western’s men’s basketball team has added a transfer from Central Wyoming College.
Western head coach Mike Larsen announced today that he has signed Treyton Paxton to an NAIA National Letter of Intent.
The 6-foot guard from Riverton, Wyoming will join the program as a sophomore.
“We are extremely excited about Treyton,” Larsen said in a statement. “He comes to us from an excellent program with a great coach. Treyton is a great shooter that is unbelievable tough.”
Paxton is a 2019 graduate of Riverton High School. As a prep he scored 1001 career points, averaging 16 points per game as a junior and 22 as a senior. He was on the 2017 state championship team. He is a two-time All-State selection in both basketball and football, won the 2019 Flaming Gorge Dunk Contest and was a Wyoming vs. Montana All-Star basketball game selection.
At at Central Wyoming College, Paxton shot 38 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range with an assist to turnover ratio of 1.3.
Paxton, the son of Curt and Kara Paxton, plans to major in business at Montana Western.
