HELENA — Carroll College volleyball coach Moe (Tutty) Boyle has announced that Mead High School (Spokane, Wash.) duo of setter Jonni Dorr and libero Natalie Kassa have committed to play volleyball for the Carroll College Fighting Saints in the fall of 2013.

Dorr, a 5-foot-9 setter, was a two-year varsity starter and team captain in 2013 at Mead High. She earned First-Team All-GSL in both her junior and senior years and was voted most inspirational as a sophomore. During her time at Mead high her team was twice the GSL Champion, three-times the District and Regional Champion, and three-times a state qualifier where they won the 4A championship in 2009 and were the State Runner-up in 2012.

“Dorr comes from one of the best volleyball programs in the state of Washington,” Boyle said. “She is college ready. Her skill level is very high and her floor presence and demeanor are commendable. I am excited to see her compete for playing time as a freshman.”

Kassa, a 5-6 libero, earned 4A All-Tournament honors this past season and was voted most inspirational by her teammates in 2011. During her time at Mead high her team was twice the GSL Champion, three-times the District and Regional Champion, and three-times a state qualifier where they won the 4A championship in 2009 and were the State Runner-up in 2012.

Kassa, who plans on majoring in nutrition while at Carroll, currently has a 3.9 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the ASB, and the group leader of fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“Kassa is a very solid defensive player, she has a court awareness that can not be measured by the stat sheet,” Boyle said.  “Academically she is a tremendous fit for Carroll College. She is a wonderful student athlete who will be successful both on and off the court.”
