WHITEFISH — Players from Carroll College and Eastern Oregon were named Frontier Conference Football Players of the Week, the league announced today.
Offensive Player of the Week: Christopher McGinnis-Parker, Eastern Oregon, is a 5-foot-7, 185-pound senior running back from Stockton, Calif. In Eastern’s 57-3 conference win over Dickinson State, McGinnis-Parker rushed 219 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. One of his touchdown runs was for 87 yards. He also caught four passes for 40 yards and a touchdown. Also nominated: Cole Cattelan of Rocky Mountain, Zack Kinney of Montana Tech, Zach McKinley of Montana State-Northern, Ryan Retzlaff of Southern Oregon and Dustin Rinker of Carroll College.
Defensive Player of the Week: Matt Upham, Carroll College, 5-foot-11, 205-pound senior defensive back from Helena. In then No. 5 Carroll College’s 48-30 conference win over then No. 20 Southern Oregon, Upham had one solo tackle, two assisted tackle and two interceptions. One of his interceptions was returned for 25 yards and a touchdown. Also nominated: Matt Gayman of Eastern Oregon, Ryan Jones of Montana Tech and Kyle Mai of Rocky Mountain College.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Jace Billingsley, Eastern Oregon University, 5-foot-9, 185-pound freshman wide receiver from Winnemucca, Nev. In Eastern’s 57-3 conference win over Dickinson State, Billingsley returned two kickoffs for a total of 130 yards including one for 92-yards and a touchdown. Also nominated: Chase Kaufman of Rocky Mountain College and Connor Smith of Carroll College.
