HELENA — A cold second half sunk the Butte High girls’ basketball team Thursday night.
Helena Capital outscored the Bulldogs 37-16 after halftime and handed Butte High a 64-48 loss.
Sadie Pilgeram scored 18 points to lead the Bruins, who improved to 2-0.
Ashten McCloskey scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs in the loss. Natalee Faupel and Carliee Haeffner each scored eight points.
The game was the first for Haeffner, who is recovering from a high ankle sprain.
Hattie Thatcher scored seven for Butte, while Hailey Hoagland scored five and Sammy McGree and Erika McLeod each scored two.
The Bulldogs, who fell to 2-1 in the non-conference game, are back in action Saturday when they travel to Missoula to take on Big Sky.
