WHITEFISH — The Spokane Cannons  used a six-run second inning to take control in a 13-4 win over the Butte Miners Friday at the Sapa/Johnsrud Tournament.

The loss puts the Miners at 1-2 heading into Saturday’s 5:30 p.m. game against the Spokane Expos.

Rilie Jones went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Cannons, who did their damage on 15 hits. Keegan Cotrell also went 3 for 3 with three RBIs.

Ryan Moodry drove in three runs to lead the Miners, who could only muster three singles. Moodry, Nate LeProwse and Renzy Doherty smacked base hits.
