The Lady Bulldogs opened the game with a 10-3 lead most of the way through the period led by senior trio Brooke Groesbeck, Emmarie Richards, and Laura Rosenleaf who all played great basketball to take a 10-5 advantage after 1.
The Bulldogs owned the second quarter as they saw buckets from Emmarie Richards who had a nice pull up jumper for two in the short corner, Dylann Bartoletti made a late-night bank call for 3 more, and Brityn Stewart would also cash in late in the period as the Lady dogs hit a bundle of three-point field goals to take a 25-16 advantage to the half with them.
Th Bengals came out much more aggressive in the 2nd half, while the Lady Dogs had free throw woes and gave up second chance points to let the Bengals crawl back into the game heading into the final quarter of play, Bulldogs would take a 5-point lead to the 4th, 38-33.
Helena would eventually erase their 9-point halftime deficit to take a lead late in the game, the Lady Bulldogs looked all but spent, until with 11 seconds left off an inbounds play 8th grader Cadence “Big Shot” Graham splashed home a triple in the corner with 3 seconds left and the Bulldogs would hang on to win a thriller 51-50 on their final home game of the season.
Sophomore Brityn Stewart led the pack in scoring as she had 13, Laura Rosenleaf and Cadence Graham both had 11 Emmarie Richards tossed in 9, Dylann Bartoletti had 5, and Brooke Groesbeck had 2.
Butte will head to Helena on Saturday to take on Capital in their final regular season game.
