ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Butte speedskater Will Silk placed seventh overall at the U.S. Long Track Age Group Nationals this weekend.

Silk competed in the Junior C division. (Note, the “C” is an age group, not an ability level). He skated to sixth place in the 800-meters, as well as the 1,000 and 1,5000. He also took seventh in the 300 and the 500. (Results)

Last year, Silk placed fifth in the Junior D division at the national meet in Milwaukee.

The eighth grader at East Middle School is the son of Dave and Lori Silk. Dave Silk, a two-time Olympian and a World Cup champion, is a member of the U.S. Speedskating Hall of Fame.
