HAVRE — Butte High senior Russell Park received a pair of honors following the Montana Amateur Hockey Association State High School Tournament this weekend.

Park was named first-line All-State as a defenseman. He also took home the 2018-2019 MAHA High School Scholarship for $500.

Park, who was voted the captain of Butte’s Copper City Kings high school team, plans to major in mechanical engineering at Montana State University.

“Russell has been said to have a fantastic work ethic, he shows up on time and is prepared to work at becoming a better athlete,” the MAHA said in a post on its Facebook page. “Russell has been called a great leader who uplifts his team and those around him with his positivity, he truly leads by example on and off the ice.”

Park, who was also a key member of Butte High’s soccer team, excels in the classroom as well. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society.
