DILLON — Butte runners Donald “Ozzie” Rosenleaf and Chris “Iceman” Tippett ran to victory at the second Beaverhead Marathon Saturday.
Rosenleaf finished the 26.2-mile run in 3 hours, 16 minutes, 8 seconds, topping the field of men’s runners. That is a pace of 7:29 per mile for Rosenleaf, who is on pace to finish his quest to run a marathon in all 50 states later this year.
Jonathan Hockett, 31, of Bozeman placed second at 3:39:04. Butte’s Gary Hoar, 57, took third in 4:05:03.
Kelsie Zitzer, 29, of Dillon was the overall winner with a time of 3:08:54.
Tippett, 62, won the half marathon with a time of 1:35:21. That is a pace of 7:17 miles per minute.
Chance Bernall, 38, whose hometown isn’t listed in the official results, took second in 1:41:45.
Jonna Schwartz, 35, of Clancy won the women’s half marathon in 1:33:30. Christine Miller, whose home town wasn’t listed, placed second in 1:41:57.
Rebecca Smith, 40, finished third at 1:42:23 placed third, while fellow Butte runner Ashley Choquette, 37, took sixth in 1:49:30.
