D.J. Moritz of Butte hiked the Continental Divide Trail from Mexico to Canada last summer.

At 6 p.m. Thursday, Moritz will give a presentation about his journey at the Butte Brewing Company (465 E. Galena St.). He will share some stories about his 3,000-plus mile walk that began on May 9 and ended Sept. 27.

Moritz will talk about the beautiful country, the challenges of making the long journey, and the people he met along the way.

Moritz is a graduate of Butte High and Montana Tech. He earned a master’s degree in math at the University of Montana. He is currently a ski instructor the Discovery Ski Area and an instructor at Montana Tech.

In the fall, Moritz will begin pursuing a Ph.D in statistics at Montana State.
