SPOKANE — Four Butte girls brought home a team title from Spokane Hoopfest over the weekend.

Makenna Carpenter, Grace McGrath, Haley Herron and Kira Mortensen won the eight-grade girls’ division of the three-on-three basketball tournament played on the city streets. Their team name was “Get Buckets.”

The team was coached by Angela McGrath.

The Butte girls won two games Saturday before a loss sent them to the losers’ bracket of the double-elimination tournament. From there, Get Buckets won three games Sunday to get to the championship games against a team called “Swoosh There It Is.”

Get Buckets beat that team twice to capture the title of the 16-team division.
