BOZEMAN — The Butte Miners have had a very good five days.
Since Wednesday, the Miners have gone 7-1 to even their overall record at 8-8. Butte is also 7-3 in Southern A play after a doubleheader sweep Sunday over the Bozeman Bucks.
Rylan Richards and Reece Cox picked up victories on the bump, and Aiden Lee drove in seven runs as the Miners beat the Bucks 15-3 and 12-
All eight of Butte’s games since Wednesday have been on the road. The Miners swept the Reps in Helena before heading to Anaconda to knock off the A’s twice Friday night. On Saturday, Butte split a non-conference twin bill with Missoula.
The Miners don’t play again until they host the Dillon Cubs in a league game June 24.
Miners 15, Bucks 3 (Boxscore)
Eric Hark, Ryan Burt, Kian O’Neill and Lee each smacked a pair of hits in the win.
Burt and Coyt Stajcar tripled, while Lee and Evan Starr doubled. Lee knocked in four runs, while O’Neill and Hart each added three RBIs.
Egan Lester added a single in the victory. Lester, Starr and Ryan Wahl all drove in a run for the Miners, who blew the game open with a seven-run seventh inning.
Richards needed just 86 pitches to go the distance, striking out three and walking two.
Zane Haarer homered, and Lane Harriosn hit two doubles to lead Bozeman. Andrew Western added a two bagger.
Miners 12 Bucks 7 (Boxscore)
Lee added three more RBIs as the Miners overcame a 4-1 deficit in the nightcap. The Miners took the lead for good with five runs in the fifth inning.
Cox, Lester and Hunter Salcido doubled for Butte. Cox and Lester also doubled, and Hart joined O’Neill with two singles. Wahl joined Lee with a single.
Richards walked four times and scored three runs in the leadoff spot. Wahl, the No. 3 hitter, scored four times.
Cox struck scattered 12 hits over six and a third innings and 104 pitches. Kenley Leary got the final two outs of the win.
Harrison and Corbin Holzer doubled to lead the Bucks.
